Be prepared for your Essaouira trip by making sure you know the correct Moroccan plug type and have your travel adaptors and/or extensions packed.
Even the most minimalist traveller to Essaouira will be packing an electrical device, and on the other end of the scale, worldschooling families are likely to be travelling with a myriad of devices.
In this digital age it’s very rare to find a traveller who doesn’t rely on electronic devices to some extent. I mean, where would we be without Google Maps? Plus, you will probably want a charged device to follow our self-guided Essaouira walking tour.

And is it just us, but one of the first things you need to do when you arrive at your accommodation is charge your phone?
However, the last thing you want to do when you arrive is venture out to find a shop that sells the correct adaptor.
Avoid any power charging meltdowns by ensuring you have the right plugs and adaptor for your visit to Essaouira.
What type of plug sockets are used in Morocco?
As with all of Morocco, the plug with two round pins is common. This includes plug type C (the plug with two round pins) and plug type E (the plug with two round pins and a hole for the socket’s male earthing pin). You can find both plug type C and E in Morocco. Type F plugs are identical to type C plugs, so these can also be used.
In summary, it’s the plug with two round pins that you need for Morocco.

A travel adaptor is also handy to charge multiple devices from the one plug via USB chargers.
